They are spending a pretty penny in general as BC Place will be a big part of hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics. Apparently, $65M will then be used for proper soccer conversion. I have no idea what all that figure includes, though...An important point here is that Seattle is doing quite well in a football stadium and they have no canopy, just ads stretched out over the empty upper deck. Even that would work.The main point, I suppose, is that MLS numbers seem to work in larger stadiums, even old domed stadiums that seemed obsolete. No exact cost found on the canopy. The innovative canopy that lowers and the scoreboard? It will be good to know if that could happen at the Dome and when the UTSA roadrunners football team takes the field at the Dome can the canopy be raised?I'm gonna try and find out how much the lower bowl at the Dome seats?
