Quick Update

Last Friday’s meeting was a success! We had about 40 people attend our first meeting. I opened the meeting with an overview about where we are as a supporters group and how important it is for us to grow our base. We understand that we will have different levels of support from our members and we are fine with that. Some people will be more active than others but nonetheless, it is key that we open our doors and reach out to all soccer fans in the San Antonio area.

A huge thank you goes out to Dr. Ed. Sakiewicz for giving a great overview of the professional soccer situation locally. Ed went on to discuss the upcoming Texas Pro Soccer Festival. The Crocketteers will want to help out in making this event a success and at the same time, take advantage of the opportunity to promote and grow the Crocketteers. I foresee future meetings with Ed, where I can further discuss the Crocketteers involvement. In the meantime, we should strive to increase our numbers and when the festival does come around, we will have a significant presence.

I encourage everyone to get involved on our forum (@ BigSoccer) and start discussing our most important goal as pointed out in the meeting: Increase our membership base. A few Crocketteers have already started to ideate on this very goal. I want to collect as many ideas from members to further discuss in a future Crocketteers meeting.

Thank you for having me. I enjoyed meeting all of you and I am excited to see your group’s forward-movement and progress as THE emerging pro soccer supporters group in SA. Please know that I am always here to help in any way and my group will be your greatest advocate. Thank you for your support as well as we collectively work hard together to bring professional soccer to the Alamo City.

Michael, I think it was a great meeting for being the first time.

We need to come out with ideas and implement those ideas to promote the group at a greater level. In others words, be more visible as a group.

David, thanks for the comment. You should have received in e-mail this morning about an upcoming promotional opportunity for the Crocketteers.

This opportunity which I will take part of will be discussed at our next meeting the week of October 20th. Other ideass as you speak of can be discussed at the meeting. The implementation of approved ideas and the process behind that will be outlined at the meeting.

Be prepared to come up with ideas and present them the meeting.

It has been determined that we will NOT discuss Crocketteers ideas in a public setting like comments in this blog or public forum. I will look into setting up a private forum on our website for Crocketteer members only.

Ideas should be discussed at meetings and in the future on our forum. Discussion of those ideas will always be discouraged in public except in those mediums(private forum, meetings).Just remember ideas will need to be approved in order to be implemented as official Crocketteers business. All this will outlined in the upcoming meeting.

Patience is key as I pointed out in our first meeting.
