We congratulate Gordon Hartman’s group on unveiling the name San Antonio Scorpions FC and the renderings of the new soccer-specific stadium at STAR.

This name is clearly the next step toward defining what the NASL franchise will be in San Antonio and we look forward to what the team’s logo and colors will look like in the future.

Although we had hoped the team name would be tied to the history of the Alamo City, we look forward to supporting Scorpions FC on the pitch.

I totally agree about how the scorpions’ name not even comes close to represent san antonio. I would’ved like the “san antonio defenders” or “the san antonio vaqueros”. Or something that grasps or simply says san antonio. Remember I said these names lol

Not fond of the name, wish they had gone the nostalgic route and named them the “Thunder” after the 70′s NASL team, like the Portland Timbers, Seattle Sounders and Vancouver Whitecaps.
