Scorpions Give The ’210′ A Night To Remember: Embarrass Carolina 8-0
David Casarez on 29 July 2012 in Scorpions FCThe USWNT recently produced a homemade video of their days leading up to the Olympics at the tune of Miley Cyrus’ Party In The U.S.A!, and has since become a You Tube sensation.
Maybe Coach Hankinson and his league leading scorer Pablo Campos should make a smiliar video called Party In The N.A.S.L!, as the San Antonio Scorpions continued their dominance in the North American Soccer League, throttling the Carolina RailHawks 8-0 at Heroes Stadium Saturday night.
Campos’ scored four goals (15th of the season) along with Greg Janicki (2), Esteban Bayona (1), and Blake Wagner (1), in what NASL.com is calling the match, ‘the most lopsided in league history’.
It was a party-like atmosphere for the 7,000+ that attended. A game that turned from pure dominance to just pure silliness.
The game became such a laugher that Coach Hankinson saw fit to pull his keeper and league leader in ‘Goals Against Average’ Daryl Sattler, and plug-in reserve goalie and home town phenom Craig Hill.
Players nor fans wanted to leave the field.
MF Walter Ramirez showed his love for the fan support by walking into the stands fist-pumping, hugging, and taking pictures with supporters 30 minutes afterwards. Even Railhawk players and coaches paid their respects by staying longer than usual, congratulating SAFC for their record-breaking performance.
Over a hundred Crocketteers stayed to the very end, soaking in every bit of history unfolding before their eyes.
Here’s how easy it was for SAFC as a supporter caught Greg Janicki’s second goal live.
