Calling all Crocketteers!!

Its time for our monthly meeting again! We will be meeting at the Lion & Rose British Restaurant & Pub on Sunday November 22, at 6:00 PM. As some of you already know the MLS Championship game is scheduled for that same evening, so following the meeting we will be watching the game. We will be using the Dungeon room again, and will be passing out Crocketteers Business cards during the game.

Calling all Crocketteers for our second official meeting. It will take place Tuesday October 20, 2009 8:00 PM at The Lion & Rose British Restaraunt & Pub. We will be at Lion around 7:30..

We have secured the Dungeon meeting room at the 410/Blanco Location but have to wait til a prior event completes. They are scheduled to be out of the Dungeon by 7:30. The earliest we could book it was 8:00 PM.

Last Friday’s meeting was a success! We had about 40 people attend our first meeting. I opened the meeting with an overview about where we are as a supporters group and how important it is for us to grow our base. We understand that we will have different levels of support from our members and we are fine with that. Some people will be more active than others but nonetheless, it is key that we open our doors and reach out to all soccer fans in the San Antonio area.

A huge thank you goes out to Dr. Ed. Sakiewicz for giving a great overview of the professional soccer situation locally. Ed went on to discuss the upcoming Texas Pro Soccer Festival. The Crocketteers will want to help out in making this event a success and at the same time, take advantage of the opportunity to promote and grow the Crocketteers. I foresee future meetings with Ed, where I can further discuss the Crocketteers involvement. In the meantime, we should strive to increase our numbers and when the festival does come around, we will have a significant presence.

I encourage everyone to get involved on our forum (@ BigSoccer) and start discussing our most important goal as pointed out in the meeting: Increase our membership base. A few Crocketteers have already started to ideate on this very goal. I want to collect as many ideas from members to further discuss in a future Crocketteers meeting.

Calling all Crocketteers for our first official meeting. It will take place Friday September 25, 2009 7:30 PM at Fox and Hound (Google Map).

Let’s discuss the future of pro soccer in San Antonio, any ideas, and how to grow our group/brand.

We will have a special guest speaker, Ed Sakiewicz.

Ed will discuss MLS in San Antonio and the upcoming Texas Pro Soccer Festival. The festival will bring 4 MLS teams to the Alamo City and Ed will call on the Crocketteers to be a big part of making the festival a success. Who knows? Maybe us Crocketteers will get to meet the likes of Stuart Holden and Brian Ching of the US National Team.
