Not really "insider"; SS&E have publicly stated they're trying to work out a deal with SAISD for the use/rental of Alamo Stadium. I would guess that's still in the works. Where Hartman/Scorpions can move forward at their own pace, SS&E are subject to the slowness of the bureaucracy inherent in a large school district. My guess: we'll hear something new by the end of summer - probably before school starts again in August. But that's just my guess. |

That is not completely correct. According to this article, its another company called GamePlan Wealth who have "contacted SS&E about using the AT&T Center". It does say they "are researching the viability of Lohe's company and the AFL with a possible ownership stake in mind." But to be clear, its the Arena League who have reached out to SS&E, not the other way around. |

Someone told me today that they heard Hartman quoted as saying he thought San Antonio would have an MLS team in 17-20 years. Let me repeat that.....17 to 20 YEARS.
Now, I did not personally hear the quote, so maybe it was somehow misinterpreted. Possible. BUT... If that is indeed his thought process and the timeline he's shooting for, his plan is even worse than I thought. I sincerely hope that is not accurate, and I further sincerely hope the Spurs get what they need to get moving on this. And SOON.
