I think the forum's reaction to this announcement has been way too cold and indifferent given the implications it can bring to pro soccer in this city in the near future The problem with the announcement is that this is just the first step of several that will need to be done before this takes off. And personally I dont think it happens, hope to be proven wrong.

I wonder what SS&E must be planning now? 1. Buy the Scorpions franchise in the future? 2. Give up on on soccer? 3. Try to start playing at another San Antonio location?

I don't think they have given up on soccer. The other two options you list are still likely in play.

I think SS&E have just put a pin in it -- so to speak. They have invested a lot of time and money, have been extremely patient, and I expect by summer time, when the kiddies are out of school, you will see a resurgence into SS&E going into Alamo Stadium again. Notice that they attempted all this during the winter holidays. It's not a coincidence.
That's why I always respected Hartman's camp; he was always honest about his intensions, even when he was asking for public funds.

"They have invested a lot of time and money, have been extremely patient". Sorry, but...where did they spent that money? (bribing school board members?) They haven't move a finger, how is that being patient

These guys at SS&E have been too quiet for too long now. I wonder if they have given up?
